So as everyone knows, Mark Prior has been pitching for the Tampa Yankees since they want him in the warmer weather. Well it is definitely warm. He pitched the last two nights down here and did well in his 2 innings of work. He is on and off the roster from what I have gathered. When they want him to pitch, they move someone down and activate him, when he is done then they reactivate the person they sent down. For the past two days it has been Kevin Mahoney who has been the one to lose his roster spot. You don't normally think about someone losing their spot on the roster and it probably hurts them more being some hotshot guy on a minor league deal that is taking away your playing time rather than someone who was on a well deserved promotion.
Anyway, here is a really short video of hotshot Mark Prior throwing one pitch in the game on Saturday in Lakeland. It is only one pitch because the batter hit the ball. You will have to watch the video to see the outcome. Enjoy.
I am going to be going to the game tomorrow night. Brett is pitching and I am expecting him to do better than his last outing. Probably the nerves of pitching the first game of the season got to him in that one as he is definitely capable of pitching a great game. He just needs to pray for some better defense or that the batters don't hit the ball to 3rd.
